Event description

Description

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is hosting a series of landlord workshops to discuss policy options for the future of the Private Rented Sector (PRS) minimum energy efficiency standards, ahead of the formal consultation later this year. This workshop is for landlords and interested parties in Cheshire, Greater Manchester and the wider North of England.

This trajectory is essential in working towards the Clean Growth Strategy (CGS) commitment to 'look at a long term trajectory for energy performance standards across the private rented sector, with the aim of as many private rented homes as possible being upgraded to EPC Band C by 2030, where practical, cost-effective and affordable'. As part of this, we need to explore the following five policy considerations:

1.Steps of a Domestic Trajectory

2.Setting Cost Parameters

3.Measuring Energy Performance

4.Exemptions

5.Enforcement

This session is for landlords of any type or number of domestic properties, and for people from other interested parties. It will involve an introduction from BEIS, breakout discussions on policy options and whole group discussions. Refreshments will be provided.
