Lee Jackson

Lee Jackson will share, in his own down-to-earth style, how he transitioned from his previous role running a youth work charity into being a Pro speaker and what he has learnt along the way. It's speaking 101, nothing complicated or boring just loads of great practical tips and stories of success and failure so you don't have to make the same mistakes. Lots of questions and answers too in a session designed to help you Speak More and Speak Better.

Three great takeaways:
...learn the mistakes that Lee made so you don't have to! ...understand how to start up and develop a speaking business from the PSA President. ...learn how to give what your clients really want to get the gig.

Lee Jackson is an Motivational Speaker, 'Powerpoint Surgeon', Presentation Coach and author of eleven books. Having worked in the voluntary, public and private sectors over the years he now works in businesses and education helping people to enjoy and succeed in challenging times. He is the President, and also a fellow of the Professional Speaking Association (PSA). He lives with his wife and twins in West Yorkshire, loves good comedy, old school Hip-Hop and basketball. He doesn't like gardening. His website is www.leejackson.biz - his twitter account is @leejackson

Did we mention that Lee is also the current National President of the PSA?

Kate Atkin
In her youth Kate was known for her shyness; at primary school her headmaster used her blush as an example of Bashful, one of the 7 dwarves, and during her teens she found social occasions awkward. When she was twenty three Kate’s older sister died from leukaemia. This had a profound impact on her desire to seize life and inspire others, knowing she had “played it safe” before then. Kate resigned from her job at Barclays Bank and went backpacking for a while to Australia and New Zealand, returning to the UK more confident, self-assured and composed. However, as her success grew so did her imposter feelings - finally putting a name to them during her MSc in positive psychology has enabled Kate to overcome them and she shares her tips, tricks and techniques with you.

Kate was Member of the Year for PSA East last year and has been a PSA stalwart for many years. On this occasion Kate will be giving an intriguing talk on Speaking and Failure - expect to be challenged and educated!

We will also have our Speaker Factor Regional winner Rosy Holt practicing her speech and asking for your feedback in advance of the Speaker Factor semi-finals in October, and another 'showcase' speaker to be arranged.
