Targeted ammunition for your speaker business
It's often said that speakers are only fond of the sound of their own voice. We couldn't possibly comment!
We are going to show you how using your voice and protecting your voice will help you radically grow your speaking business.
Unlike previous meetings we are running an afternoon and an evening workshop. Both sessions will be interactive and get you thinking and inspired to take action to make your voice your biggest asset as a speaker.
How to pro-actively secure your perfect speaking opportunities
In the afternoon workshop, The Telephone Assassin, Anthony Stears will be showing you how to proactively approach prospects to win more work from them. Anthony's methods are authentic, completely legitimate, and do not involve any cold calling. Many PSA members are now using his techniques and have well-stuffed pipelines of work in 2017 and 2018 as a result.
As an international speaker Anthony understands the challenges involved in getting paid work in our industry, and has agreed to run an interactive workshop to show Speakers how to proactively prospect for new business, without being “salesy” or looking desperate. He'll show you how to be pro-active and, without being pushy, authentically create buying decisions. You will pick up practical tips as Anthony will explain simple things YOU can do to approach your wish-list of clients with confidence.
The Telephone Assassin is on a mission to get business talking again and stop people from hiding behind their emails and social media. So, whether you’re new to speaking, looking to move from free to paid work, or trying to break into a different market, this is the workshop for you.
Anthony will be demonstrating some live calls on the workshop, so we can watch a master in action.
By the end of the session you will:
- Have more confidence, understanding your true value and what you should be charging
- Have a plan of how you can start making money from speaking
- Understand the importance of building a pipeline
- Have a call structure to keep you on track and in control of your calls
- Find ways to use social media to improve your success on the phone
- Be able to create a “test-drive” which helps you close the deal/gigs
The evening session will be run by our resident former opera singer, Susan Heaton Wright. (Do not worry you will not be expected to sing). Susan will be running a vocal workshop helping us look after our voices and get the most out of our voice.
HELP! I have no voice: the speaker’s nightmare
With all the talking we are going to be doing at the event, it's probably a great time to listen to what Susan Heaton-Wright will be telling us about how to maintain our voices and voice health as a speaker.
In her session, you will find out:
- Tips on how to prevent vocal strain and tiredness
- How to warm up your voice
- How to actually project your voice to the back of the room when you have no microphone
- How to control your voice even when you are feeling sick with nerves
- General health tips to look after your voice
- SOS top tips if you have croaky voice on the day of a speaking engagement
So, if you want to use your voice to aim, load and fire your ammunition to fill your diary with bookings then you can't afford to miss the PSA East of England workshop and evening session on the 21st March 2017.
See you then!
