6 Key Lessons from 6 Years in the PSA
In this talk you will get the insights that have helped Steve to grow a successful speaking business. He will share the top 6 things that he has learned on his journey from Associate, to Professional Member to Fellow. This covers everything from how to pick your topic to how to introduce yourself at networking events. What being a Regional President did for him and could do for you. And finally, what to do if you think you may have gotten your speaker branding wrong.
Specific take-aways will be:
• One successful way to plan your journey from Associate to Fellow
• How to find the right topic for you and your audience
• One sure way to kick-start your speaking business
Steve is a Fellow of the PSA and a speaker who specialises in Change & Disruption. Like many of the speakers in the PSA Steve has a ‘portfolio’ life with Speaking contributing to his multiple overall income streams. He uses speaking to generate consultancy work and Non-Executive Directorship roles. He has most recently created a product that he is taking to market via Chief Executive Mastermind Groups, a market he knows well as he used to chair such a group. Steve is also the Immediate Past Regional President for PSA North West, a role he loved having.
Showcasing is a way of receiving feedback for new material you may be working. For the audience it's a way of learning as they give feedback.
This month our showcase speaker is:
Phil Marsland offering a provocative taster of a larger presentation/half day workshop.
Title - Challenging traditional HR thinking
In order for people and organisations to thrive and grow we need to challenge our traditional approaches to the world of work.
Phil Marsland has recently set up his own People Insights and Organisational Change consultancy. With a background as a senior HR professional he is looking to create impact and make a difference across a range of organisations by delivering even better HR and Leadership so that people are engaged, productive and thriving and growing with their organisation.
With all this great content and superb networking then would NOW be a good time to book?
Mike Blissett will be sharing his keynote “The Speaker Within – How To Find and Use A Key Personal Story Within Your Presentation”
By listening to our speaker you will learn…
1 – How to find which key personal story to use in your presentation
2 - How to find the core message within that story
3 – How to make sure that message connects with your audience
A key personal story can answer the question on an audience’s lips, “why should I listen to you?” Told well, a key personal story becomes your signature message, the big “why?” the main thing people remember you by long after your speech has ended.
Mike Blissett’s been a business coach and trainer since 2003. He’s spoken at more than 900 events for The Coaching Academy, in 2016 he was asked to speak at the Malaysian Association of Professional Speakers in Kuala Lumpur, and most recently delivered a one day seminar on stage presence for a group of eye surgeons in Israel.
If you want to create rapport and connection with your audience, if you want to use stories to drive home your key points, and if you want to be remembered, please come along and listen to Mike.
