➢ How to speak better
➢ How to access the market
➢ How to drive more sales
Prof. Dr. Niels Brabandt grew up in a family of state officials. He planned to go with the family tradition: becoming a teacher. He found out that this is not what he likes. He studied economics, worked in the pharmaceutical industry (for GlaxoSmithKline – their UK HQ is close to Heathrow). He worked as a trainer besides his time at University and decided to keep his self-employment going. After some years with Glaxo he decided to go self-employed full-time. Since then he got two PhDs and a professorship. He speaks, trains and coaches in the area of Sustainable Leadership. For two years he has lived in London and after moving to Kensington he now lives in Canary Wharf.
To help you speak better we have Dr Simon Raybould
Presentation Genius - the science of presenting: what works and why.
Presenting isn’t public speaking but the skill-sets overlap a lot. And there’s a lot of research into what works - and why. All too often presenters and speakers can’t improve because they don’t know why something worked, or didn’t. Simon has ploughed through nearly 400 university research papers to figure it out.
- The PIE model for helping audience engage, understand, retain and act on what you say.
- The four principles of effective slide design and the structure of presentations that work.
Simon started life as a university researcher, looking at the causes of children’s cancer. After his PhD he spent 24 years as a social science researcher, finally spending time as the Centre Manager for the UK’s largest social science research unit - the second most influential in the world.
He’s also worked as a lighting designer for dance companies, an actor, author and playwright. His wife is a real teacher and doesn't think his two years teaching six form girls at a private school counts enough to put teacher on his CV.
Steve Judge is our showcase speaker.
Steve is going to share an abbreviated version of his full talk, '4 messages to achieve'.
He'll present his inspirational journey explaining how he created and used his 4 messages that took him from wheel chair to world champion to entrepreneur.
We look forward to welcoming you on Saturday, 12th November.
