Primary School Games: Medway Primary School Key Step Gymnastics
Please find information regarding the Key Step Gymnastics for KS1 and KS2 to be held at Greenacre Academy sports hall on THURSDAY 6th FEBRUARY 2020. School teams to select what Key Stage teams they would like to enter.
Please note parents/grandparents/spectators are not allowed to come and watch, due to a lack of space in the sports hall.
There will be three separate competitions running on the day, Level 1 for Years 1&2, Level 2 for years 3&4, and Level 2 for Years 5&6.
Team Information
Teams must consist of 4 pupils.
Teams must consist of at least 1 boy and 1 girl.
All children in the team must attempt all 3 activities.
More than one team can be entered per year group per school.
There will be 3 categories in the competition:
Note: This competition is for children who are beginners and are developing basic fundamental skills. This competition is NOT appropriate for pupils who attend Community Club recreational class programmes, or who are in any type of development squad or discipline specific squad – including Floor and Vault. Please see below for more specific criteria for each age group:
• Key Stage 1: Years 1 & 2
There is one competition category working to the Step 1 activities. Children may be participating in a school based extra-curricular gymnastics class (no more than 1 hour a week), but do not attend any community gymnastics club.
• Key Stage 2: Years 3 & 4 and Years 5 & 6
Year 3 & 4: Working to the Step 2 activities: Children may be participating in a school based extra-curricular gymnastics class (no more than 1 hour a week), but do not attend any community gymnastics club.
Year 5 & 6: Step 2: Working to the Step 2 activities: Children may be participating in a school based extra-curricular gymnastics class (no more than 1 hour a week), but do not attend any community gymnastics club.
If you would like to enter the Medway Primary School Key Steps Gymnastics for KS1 and KS2 please complete the online entry form: by closing date Thursday 23rd JANUARY 2020. Early entries are recommended due to limited spaces and entries will be accepted on a ‘first come first served basis’.

I accept that the Greenacre Sports Partnership, Howard School Sports Partnership and any other schools, sports clubs, coaches or leaders present at the competition, shall not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury which may be incurred to a person(s) who takes part in any of the activities stated above. I accept that I am fully responsible for the pupils from my school throughout the competition. This includes gaining parental consent, photographic consent and medical information about each of the pupils prior to the competition. I have read the PSG risk assessment. If you wish to take photos at the competition please register your camera on arrival. There will be an official photographer present at the event and photographs from the day may be used for publicity purposes, including use on websites and social media. If any of your pupils cannot be photographed please ensure the event organisers are aware of this at the start of the event, so an illuminous wristband can be issued.
