Event description
PSNI: Your views on local policing

About this Event

An event sure to arrest your attention....have your say on the findings of the 'Local Policing Review 2018: Public Consultation'.

Come along and find out about the key take home messages from the consultation. You can also engage in a Q&A session with a panel of experts, including the authors of the report and members from the Police Service Northern Ireland and Northern Ireland Policing Board.

This two-part event will kick off with the findings from the Northern Ireland 'Local Policing Review 2018: Public Consultation'.

The authors behind the report, Professor Duncan Morrow, Dr Jonny Byrne, Dr Brian Payne and Dr Conor Murray will talk through the main findings. With the use of a ‘priority simulator’ - a purpose-built software application accessible online - they asked participants to allocate police resources to a predetermined list of core policing activities. Respondents had the chance to answer open-ended questions related to their experiences. The findings report the views of the public, organisations, political parties and non-governmental organisations that took part.

The second part of the event will include a panel discussion. The panel will be made up of the authors of the report, representatives from the Northern Ireland Policing Board and the PSNI. Attendees will have the chance to ask questions, and give their views on the report findings.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
