Parish Safeguarding Officer Forum
These forums are a chance for Parish Safeguarding Officers within the Diocese of Bath and Wells to network with others, share good practice and ask the safeguarding team any questions. Forums take place online via Zoom and begin at 1 pm. You do not have to attend the entire session once you have signed up.

The link between dementia and domestic abuse with Safeguarding Manager - Ben Goodhind
With an estimated 2.3 million people aged over 16 experiencing domestic abuse between March 2023 and March 2024, awareness and knowledge of the different forms of domestic abuse is vital in supporting survivors and those with lived experiences of abuse. Some groups are at higher risk of being vicitms of domestic abuse, including those who suffer with dementia. Having recently attended training on the links between dementia and domestic abuse, Ben would like to share this learning with PSOs and continue the conversation surrounding domestic abuse and how to support victims and survivors.
There will be opportunities to ask any questions about the topic throughout the session as well as a general Q & A towards the end.
