Parish Safeguarding Officer Forum
These forums are a chance for Parish Safeguarding Officers within the Diocese of Bath and Wells to network with others, share good practice and ask the safeguarding team any questions. Forums take place online via Zoom and begin at 1 pm. You do not have to attend the entire session once you have signed up.
We have adjusted the way we deliver these forums to highlight specific topics within safeguarding. The main focus of this forum will be:
Managing Individuals Subject to Safeguarding Concerns with our Safeguarding Caseworker - Jo Austin
Our churches seek to be a welcoming space for all within society, and this can sometimes include those who pose a potential risk of harm to children or vulnerable adults. In those instances, the Diocesan Safeguarding Team will support the church to welcome that individual whilst also managing the potential risks that they may pose. This session will look at how we manage individuals with a safety plan and will cover the following topics:
- The risk assessment process and managing risk within church communities
- What a safety plan is and who might be subject to a plan
- The role of the reference group in implementing the plan
There will be opportunities to ask any questions about throughout the session as well as a general Q & A towards the end.
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us via safe.guarding@bathwells.anglican.org.
