Enhance, Access and Understand: The University of Edinburgh and the Wellcome Trust is an exhibition and series of six lunch time talks celebrating the recent Wellcome Trust Research Resources funded projects undertaken at the Centre for Research Collections. This funding has made possible the cataloguing, conservation and care of collections for the benefit of public access.

Scottish psychiatrist and psychoanalyst William Ronald Dodds Fairbairn (1889–1964) undertook pioneering research on the care of children suffering from trauma. His books are now in Edinburgh University Library and his archive is in the National Library of Scotland.
This talk will explore how the collaborative Wellcome Trust-funded project ‘The child in context: the papers and books of psychoanalyst W.R.D. Fairbairn’ has made his books and archive publicly accessible, and what was uncovered in the process…
