Description

Dear Colleague,

The Transforming Cancer Services Team for London and the London Living with and Beyond Cancer Board are pleased to host a Psychological support for cancer consultation event on Thursday May 4th 13:00 – 17:00 at Friends House, 173-177 Euston Road, Kings Cross, London NW1 2BJ

  • The Commissioning guidance produced by the London Mental Health Strategic Clinical Network and TCST (2015) recommended that “Community provision for emotional and psychological support should be supported and developed”.

  • There is no established pathway spanning existing acute psycho-oncology services, through to primary care, IAPT services, community mental health and community palliative care teams.

Aims of the event:

  • To present a preliminary patient pathway for psychological support for cancer and to obtain feedback regarding which parts of the pathway work well, where further clarity is needed and how we can move things forward.

  • To bring together key stakeholders across the patient pathway to include service users, primary care professionals and IAPT providers, community services, acute care, third sector and commissioners for both mental health and cancer commissioning.

Places are limited but we would like to ensure a good mix of service users, service providers and commissioners across London.

We hope the event is of interest to you; please do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions.
