This programme introduces the concept and practices associated with developing psychological safety within teams and organisations.

About this Event

This event will run over 3 sessions:

Session 1 - 5th Nov 2020 - 9:30-11am

Session 2 - 23rd Nov 2020 - 9:30-11am

Session 3 - 7th Dec 2020 - 9:30-11am

It provides practical ways for leaders to role model and endorse behaviours that have been proven to develop psychologically safe working environments. It is comprised of 3 x 1.5 hour interactive sessions that are delivered virtually:

1. What is Psychological Safety & how do we create it?

Session one introduces the concept of psychological safety, exploring some of the practical ways that it can be created on both an individual and team level.

2. The impact of beliefs, emotions and behaviour on Psychological Safety

Session two explores the role of false beliefs, emotions and its impact on our behaviour, focussing on practical ways to communicate effectively whilst maintaining psychological safety.

3. The role of culture and Psychological Safety

Session three explores the role of culture and how it affects our psychological safety, whilst co-developing practical ways to role model behaviour and change culture.

Who is this event aimed at?

The programme is aimed at all senior leaders who are in a position to make demonstrable changes to support psychological safety within their organisation. There must therefore ensure that they have capacity to make these positive changes, whilst aligning their psychological safety work with organisational plans.

What will attendees learn at this event / workshop?

The participants will learn about the concept of psychological safety and ways to create it. They will also learn about the role of beliefs, emotions and behaviour, and how culture and role modelling impacts psychological safety.

Event Conditions:

  1. Events are free to all Advancing Quality Alliance (AQuA) member organisations. In some cases, places can be paid for by non-members.   2. Paid places on AQuA events are non-refundable however can be transferred. If you are no longer able to attend and wish to transfer your place, please contact the team on the details above.
  3. Final event arrangements are confirmed with the venue up to two weeks before the event. In order to ensure that places are not wasted please let us know at your earliest convenience if you are no longer able to attend. Many of our events operate waiting lists so this will enable us to reallocate your place to someone else on the list.
  4. We take photographs and occasionally video/live stream at our events. We use these pictures and video on our website and in other media such as Twitter and news publications. If you do not want to be photographed or filmed please let a member of the AQuA team know at the event.
  5. AQuA collects information when you register to attend an event. In this case, we collect your name, job title, organisation, telephone number and email address. The information is added to our secure database, and the information is added for informing you about future events.
  6. When you register for this event you must actively confirm your consent so we can keep you informed about any relevant news and events.
  7. Supporting resources, presentations and other materials from the event will be made available on our website after the event for 30 days.
  8. By registering for an AQuA event you consent for us to share your attendance information with your organisation for reporting purposes.
  9. If the event is held jointly with one of our partners we will share attendee names, organisations and email addresses.
