Psychological Skills Level 2
On this course you will be building on your skills from Advanced Communication Skills Training to help manage complex conversations in healthcare.
Learning outcomes:
• Recognise and identify specific aspects of communication skills that are key in the assessment, identification, and management of those with psychological needs/distress.
• Describe and differentiate a range of psychopathologies pertinent to clinical practice in palliative care.
• Demonstrate a range of the knowledge and skills required in the assessment process for psychological needs/distress and be able to apply this knowledge to their clinical practice.
• Recognise and develop self-care strategies as part of their clinical role
Who is it for?
Patient facing clinical nurse specialists and specialist nurses working at band 7 level or above. The training is available to all staff in Surrey and Sussex who have access to clinical supervision.
Please note, this course is for participants who have NOT done Psychological Sills Level 2 in the past. If staff wish to attend this course as a refresher, please apply as normal and note the date of your last course attendance and you will be added to the waiting list.
This course is at an enhanced level, the entry requirements are mandatory to work on the skills learnt and developed from Advanced Communication Skills.
Staff who do not meet the entry requirements will have their tickets removed by the education team.
