Event description

Description

Understanding key legal principles and procedures of English law, how the justice system works in practice, and how to deal with lawyers - are important skills, increasingly more essential in the light of inaccessibility of justice and the large numbers of unrepresented people in court action.

In a similar way, understanding key principles of human psychology is a skill that is useful in almost all professional and social settings – making the combination of the two – which this course provides – an invaluable tool.

This course focuses on these key topics. You will learn about law, lawyers and the legal system in practice, including key principles of contracts and liability, legal reasoning, training of lawyers, legal system in practice and access to justice; AND about psychology, including psychological studies and the profession, science of human behaviour, human traits and their origins, perceptions, persuasion and decision making.

This course is co-directed by Prof Yulia Kovas and Fatos Selita, who have many years of experience internationally in cutting edge research, practice (both law and psychology) and large international projects. Read more
