This event will not look at psychology in a predictable way (how do I do my psychology UCAS personal statement and the wide range of jobs you can do with a psychology degree, for example?)
We will be looking at three themes:
Clinical Psychology - When young people in schools and colleges are imagining their future in psychology, they are often imagining a career in Clinical Psychology. But what are the realities of entering this profession? We will be joined by Dr Matthew Jones Chesters, Admissions Tutor for the DClinPsy at UEL.
Dementia - There are 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK today (1.3 per cent). By 2025 the number is expected to rise to over one million and by 2050 it is projected to exceed 2 million. Laura Anthony, the Skills for Care Dementia Lead for London, will be talking about the workforce implications related to these developments.
Occupational Psychology - Ian Sharp from the Morrisby Organisation will give an overview of what Occupational Psychology is and how you get into it, and his own journey into Occupational Psychology.
