Event description

Description

A mixture of teaching, group work and individual planning time will help you to develop intriguing and authentic characters in your fiction using psychological theory. The workshop is suitable for all levels of writer as the focus is a deeper understanding of character. You will get the most out of the day if you have a specific character to develop.

A warm, welcoming and reflective space will offer you the chance to develop a deeper understanding of what your characters would do and why.

Topics include:

Attachment theory and timelines

Human beliefs, assumptions, interpretations

Psychological defense mechanisms

What lies beneath - characters' healthy longings

Feel free to arrive from 10am for a 10:30 start. This venue does not provide lunch so either bring your own or venture out in the breaks.

Please note: Half-price tickets are for those self-defined 'disadvantaged' writers who would not be able to attend at standard price.
