In the past few decades, psychological research has established that monitoring of psychotherapy outcomes dramatically improves clinical results, prevents dropout, allows clinicians to identify patients’ deterioration ahead of time, and increases overall client satisfaction. In fact, many researchers claim that routine monitoring might be the most effective clinical intervention available to therapists. As many as 90 percent of patients are open and willing to engage in such monitoring; however, very few clinicians have been implementing it. We believe that now is the time to change that.

Clinical psychologist Valery Hazanov and his colleagues are currently developing Therapymate, a technological tool that will significantly facilitate routine outcome measurement for therapists and clinical directors.

In light of this, you are invited to join Valery for a conversation about psychotherapy outcomes in clinical practice and his project Therapymate. This event will be an opportunity to share your thoughts about this type of research, ask questions, and give suggestions.

As part of the online forum, Valery will be presenting Therapymate. Stillpoint and Valery would like to invite practitioners to learn more and get involved in the research phase, as well as further development of the tool.

About the facilitator

Valery Hazanov, Ph.D. holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University and is the founding clinical director of headspace: originally from Australia, it is the largest psychological center for young people in Jerusalem. Dissatisfied with the available solutions, Valery teamed up with data analysts and scientists, user experience experts, and operational specialists to create the most user-friendly companion to therapy. The secret is: making it attractive to therapists, so they can gather as much data as possible to inform and dramatically improve treatment.
