About this Event

Pub & Industrial Heritage Walk (with a Brewery Tour!)

Part of Sheffield Beer Week 2020, join Dave Pickersgill for a talk and walk around Kelham Island and Neepsend!

This walk starts at the Fat Cat pub in Kelham Island. After a short introduction, we will follow a 1.2 mile route. We will pass the oldest working brewery in Sheffield, a myriad of industrial sites, more breweries and a number of pubs before finishing at the Sheffield Brewery Company, close to the now derelict Cannon Brewery.

Brewery staff will be available to allow you to purchase drinks. They will then take you on a short tour of this brewery. Established in 2006, the Sheffield Brewery Company are the 4th.oldest of the 23 breweries currently operating in Sheffield. Their site has a rich industrial heritage.

Dave Pickersgill is the Pub Heritage Officer for Sheffield and District CAMRA, Editor of 'Sheffield's Real Heritage Pubs' and was shortlisted for the 2018 Citizen Communicator Award (British Guild of Beer Writers). The third edition of the book is available as a free download.
