To celebrate the Clock House Tavern’s first birthday, we’ve organised something a little different: an evening of drawing inspired by the pub itself, where the pub will be your muse!
You’ll spend an hour and a half capturing the character of the Clock House, from its quirky details to the wider setting. Weather permitting, we’ll begin outdoors, sketching from the park. If the skies don’t cooperate, we’ll head inside and draw from within the pub. Either way, there’s plenty to inspire.
This isn’t about drawing the “right” way; it’s about enjoying yourself and letting your own style lead the way. Whether you’re into soft pencils, bold colours, collage, delicate lines or loose, free-flowing marks, all techniques are welcome. We’re not aiming for matching drawings, in fact, we’re hoping for the opposite. Be as creative as you can be!
Basic materials will be provided to get you started, but if you have your own (unique) tools, sketchbooks or materials, we’d love you to bring them along. The more your drawing reflects your own creative voice, the better. We’d also suggest bringing a blanket to sit on if we’ll be outdoors and possibly a hard surface to draw on (a notebook, clipboard or sketchpad works well).
At the end of the session, one drawing will be chosen for a little birthday prize from the Clock House: a meal for two and a bottle of wine.
Come and join us for a one-off evening of creativity, community, and joyful expression, and help us draw the Clock House in all its glory.
