Description
Be a part of our critical discourse around public art and its publics!
Birmingham Big Art Project is delighted to be working with Eastside Projects to host a symposium that will bring thinkers and practitioners from various fields together to discuss Public Art Thinking and what it is today.
The symposium will discuss: Who is deprived in the process of development? How can we make space unique within mass development? Could artists be better property developers? How can arts institutions engage with publics to develop artworks?
Speakers include: Mel Jordan, Barbara Holub, Rosalie Schweiker, Robert Garnett and Andy Reeve.
Everyone is very welcome to join/observe/be active in conversations around public art!
A double issue of the Art & the Public Sphere journal titled Public Art Thinking has been dedicated to this concept of Public Art Thinking and on the occasion of this project.
