Hosted in a unique collaboration between Nourish Scotland, City of Glasgow College and Glasgow Community Food Network, this event celebrates the power of food to connect people, shape healthier communities, and support a local, fairer and more sustainable food system.
It supports Scotland’s journey to becoming a Good Food Nation with the Right to Food.
It also gives catering students a valuable opportunity to learn and lead, connecting their culinary skills to the wider campaigning work about food, health, and justice in Scotland.
Lunch will be served at City of Glasgow College training restaurant located on the ground floor of City campus on Cathedral Street.
What’s on the menu?
• A seasonal, healthy and delicious menu prepared by City of Glasgow catering students. There will be a choice between a vegan and gluten free dish and a meat-based dish followed by dessert.
• An introduction to public diners, their history and their importance for a Good Food Nation and the right to food in Glasgow and Scotland.
• A screening of public diner film archives followed by some reflections and informal discussion and conversations.
• An opportunity to connect with students, members of the public, practitioners, and community members committed to making food systems healthier, fairer, and more sustainable.
