Event description

Description

Public Engagement and Animal Research (Scotland)

Aim of the day

This is a one-day training session for researchers, animal care or supporting staff who want to communicate more effectively about how and why they use animals in research.

Session information

In this session we will look at how to effectively engage audiences when talking about animal research. We will share experiences, and discuss why talking about animal research and challenging misconceptions is important. The second half of the session will look at communication styles and techniques for engaging audiences in presentations, discussions and interviews. We will also look at myth-busting and how to answer some of the more difficult questions about using animals in research.

Course notes and other supporting materials will be made available to participants online after the workshop.

Refreshments: Provided

Cost: £ 325 + VAT

Training sessions are free for up to four people from UAR member organisations per year.
