Protecting reputation in a changing global environment

About this Event

Arguments over ‘the public interest’ are at the heart of most serious reputation law issues and the ability to defend against them, including erroneous investigative reporting, using leaked confidential information and intruding into the private lives of prominent individuals.

With private businesses accepting state subsidies, heightened regulations stemming from the Coronavirus and shifts in mood towards fairness in society, businesses need to adapt to how public interest arguments will be asserted over private businesses in the months and years ahead and what it means for handling reputation and legal issues.

In this session aimed at senior executives, corporate communicators and legal counsel we will look at:

• Where public interest arguments arise and why,

• How the changed economic and social situation affects that,

• What you should do differently to prepare for that change.

Lessons can be learned from sectors for whom the mixing of public and private sector is not new. Serco director of communications for Europe and UK Regions Charles Carr will join the discussion to offer his insights into how protecting corporate reputation differs when dealing with unusually high public interest arguments.
