Public Policy Group – ‘Apprenticeships and the Levy’
Speaker: Speakers from Eurocell, AO and the General Medical Council.
This meeting will explore employers’ experiences of working with apprenticeships and look at the implications of the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy. The Levy is scheduled to be introduced from April 2017 and will require all employers in the UK, with a pay bill of more than £3 million a year to invest in apprenticeships.
For this meeting we have three speakers from very different organisations each with experience of working with apprenticeships: Eurocell, AO and the General Medical Council. This will give us a rich introduction to working with different numbers of apprentices, in different occupational areas and in different ways. From this backdrop we will then go on to explore the implications of the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy and how employers can maximise the positive impact of this.
Participants will also be invited to share your experience of working with apprenticeships. The meeting will also help you to think through how to make the Apprenticeship Levy work effectively for your own organisation.
Here are some links to relevant information about the Levy, so that we can all start the meeting with some background understanding of the proposals for the Levy.
