Part of a 2-workshop series, this Masterclass will help you speak more confidently, no matter the setting.

Public speaking isn’t just for the stage — it’s a skill that helps you sell ideas and connect with people.

In this interactive workshop, you’ll uncover why speaking up can feel so hard, learn practical techniques to stay calm and grounded, and discover how to make every sentence count.

With Calum Moore, Public Speaking & Communication Trainer

Calum studied as a director at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland before working with such companies as A Play, A Pie & A Pint & Pitlochry Festival Theatre.

Now his teaching is dedicated to raising the speaking standards of Scottish Business Professionals, ensuring they can turn heads, take up space and present with authority.

His company, The Communication Catalyst, offers ongoing, personalised support in helping teams progress from passive listeners to proactive communicators.

Agenda

Part 1 – Why We Struggle Speaking Up
A guided discussion about participants’ experiences with public speaking: what they find difficult, what they avoid, and what they’re afraid of. This sets the tone and helps everyone recognise they’re not alone in these challenges.

Part 2 – Grounding & Breath Control
Participants learn simple, practical ways to ground themselves and use their breath to stay calm — and to support stronger, more controlled sentences.

Part 3 – Making Each Sentence Count
Using a short self-created speech, participants experiment with physical and vocal presence, learning to take up more space and speak with clarity.

Part 4 – Feedback & Q&A
Participants share their main takeaways, with space for questions on presenting, speaking up and managing nerves in real situations.
