Nervous when speaking in front of family, friends or a new audience?
Do you become anxious, fearful and worried when preparing to deliver a talk?
Struggle with conveying your message clearly and concisely?
Do you often freeze up or experience a blank when delivering talks?
>>> Take the first step in becoming a more confident communicator and public speaker by visiting us.
Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped over four million people transform their careers and impress their friends & family by becoming more effective communicators and leaders.
Toastmasters is a not for profit organisation dedicated to helping people develop their public speaking and leadership skills. Come join us at a meeting!
Walsall Speakers is a new pre-charter club that launched June 2016.
We offer a warm, friendly atmosphere and excellent personal development opportunities. Whatever your goals for speaking in public - whether for work a presentation or conference, a BIG occasion or just personal development - we can help you exceed them!
We meet at The Hub*; Walsall College's Conference Centre.
Car Parking & Transport
Both the Hub and Walsall College provide FREE car parking. There are also excellent transport links via bus or train, with Walsall Train Station being just a 7 minute walk from the venue.
1st & 3rd Thursday of every month.
A typical meeting consists of two parts; the Prepared Speeches Session and the Table Topics Session, with Evaluations given for each speaker.
During the Prepared Speeches Session members give speeches on a freely chosen subject, whereas the Table Topics Session gives members (and willing guests) the opportunity to improve ad-hoc speaking.
At every meeting, members are encouraged to take leadership roles, such as timekeeper, grammarian or toastmaster.
Typically we have around 8-12 members in attendance. We strive to limit the numbers to 15 maximum as from experience, smaller numbers work best to allow for a more intimate safe environment for our guests.
We can arrange for a 1:1 Mentor!
For those who are nervous about standing up and speaking and want to better control nerves / common fears, you can have a mentor to help you along your development journey. We have members who have been coming for many years and also many new members, each of whom have gained skills throughout their lives and are happy to pass this knowledge on.
