Event description

Description

This event is aimed at 3rd and 4th year PhD students, newly qualified PhDs, and ECRs without permanent posts. Our range of speakers will discuss publication plans, turning the thesis into a book, journal publishing, and the impact of REF on ECRs. There will be plenty of scheduled time for discussion, so bring your questions along!

Speakers:

  • Michael Sharp - commissioning editor for classics, Cambridge University Press
  • Catherine Steel - former editor of Journal of Roman Studies and Dean of Research (University of Glasgow)
  • Charlotte Matheison - expert on REF and ECR concerns (University of Surry)
  • Kate Wiles - editor at History Today
  • Richard Alston - Director of Research, RHUL

Senate House is an accessible venue. There is information about accessibility here: http://www.senatehouselibrary.ac.uk/about-us/accessibility (please note, some of this refers only to the 4th floor library, information about getting around the building is relevant to Senate House as a whole). Please do not hesitate to contact us for clarification or if you need additional information.
