About this event

Publishing Day on the Creative Writing Programme provides writers with invaluable insights into the publishing industry. Our series of online workshops will give you the crucial edge when approaching busy publishing professionals. Learn how to navigate your way through the forest of agencies and publishers and how to write effective covering letters and punchy, compelling synopses to secure an agent who will be committed to championing your work.

On Publishing Day we bring together publishing professionals who have worked with the Creative Writing Programme, published writers and unpublished writers in a series of informal workshops and discussions to offer you an overview of current publishing practices, an understanding of the role of agents, publishers and booksellers and a sense of what will be expected of you as a writer from the moment you secure representation for your work to your first publishing contract and beyond.
