Synopsis:

The talk is about publishing in the Nature Portfolio from the perspective of an in-house editor. It first contains an introduction to the new journal, Communications Engineering. Then, there will be guidance on how to select the right journal for your manuscript followed by tips for writing a research article. Finally, it will conclude with information about the editorial process – the journey a manuscript takes from submission to publication. It will be 45 minutes with 15 minutes of questions.

About Miranda Vinay:

Miranda Vinay is an Associate Editor for Communications Engineering, the new multidisciplinary engineering journal from the Nature Portfolio. She handles manuscripts in all disciplines of engineering. As a consulting editor for Nature Communications and Communications Physics, she specializes in materials science, physical chemistry, devices, sensors, applied sciences and engineering. She joined the Nature Portfolio after completing a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of California - Riverside where she studied high-temperature superconductors and electronic devices.

Target Audience:

The event will be of particular relevant to Professors, Postdocs, and PhD students who study applied sciences and engineering, though most of the talk will be interesting and relevant for any discipline of STEM researchers.
