Event description
A fully funded training day for Domiciliary Care staff in Wakefield, using the Pull Up A Chair Training Tool.

About this Event

A fully funded training day for Domiciliary Care staff in Wakefield, which uses the Pull Up A Chair Training Tool featuring local people talking about their experience of living in residential care settings. This training tool encourages reflection and discussion for those involved in the delivery of care of tenants and residents across key life domains.

This engaging day will teach you:

  • to develop a greater understanding of person-centred care in the workplace
  • to develop the skill of empathy and how to make an empathetic response
  • how to apply person-centred values to work practices
  • Self-Care: understanding how thinking about working practices (reflective practice) and getting support from work colleagues (peer support) can help staff feel better about their work.

Please note: Refreshments will be provided but please bring your own lunch.

The venue is easily accessible by public transport and a pay-and-display car park is within 2 minute walking distance.
