Tessa Bide Productions presents 3 workshops introducing you to basic puppetry techniques. Perfect for curious children & playful adults!
About this event
We're thrilled to offer a series of workshops for children and adults which focus on building puppetry skills for beginners. Once purchased, you'll have access to these workshops until April 2022 so you can really get to grips with those puppetry skills!
THE WORKSHOPS
1. MAKE YOUR OWN PUPPET
This is a simple puppet-making workshop suitable for adults and children aged 7+ (younger children can partake, too, but must be supervised). The puppet in this tutorial can be made using just newspaper and masking tape, and should take about an hour depending on ability.
2.INTRODUCTION TO PUPPETRY
In this workshop, you will learn how to bring an inanimate object to life and how to make it talk. You will begin to learn how to move your body to facilitate the puppet. All you need is some old newspaper, a peg, and some objects found around the house. It is suitable for children aged 7+(younger children can partake, too, but must be supervised) and perfect for the playful adults in all of us!
3.. BUNRAKU/ TABLE TOP PUPPETRY
In this workshop, you will learn how to bring a human-shaped puppet to life in a group of 2 or 3, like traditional Japanese bunraku puppeteers. It is suitable for adults and children aged 7+ and you will some a tea towel and tea cup or small mug, and a puppet made in our Make Your Own Puppet Workshop.
