Purposed Life Church Sunday Service Wigan
Event Information
About this Event
The following information is a list of requirements based on current Government restrictions amidst Covid-19 for places of worship, which have been effective from 14th September 2020. These rules must be observed if we are to open our building and work towards remaining open in 2021.
• There will be no children’s or youth work, as it is a Government requirement that children must always remain with parents in worship settings. Youth will, however, be able to meet on Friday’s as a social gathering providing all Government guidelines are met
• If any person has any symptoms or signs of illness, please remain at home and seek medical advice.
• We would also recommend that people 70 years’ old and over, and/or anyone who suffer from any underlying and on-going health problems, also stay at home until it is deemed safer to venture out
We are required to provide an environment where 2 metre distance is maintained by people outside the same household at all times. Because of this, our seating capacity is greatly reduced, and the following must be observed:
• There will be a booking system, in which those who wish to attend a Sunday morning services should book seats. There are various ways to do this: Eventbrite on-line booking service through our website, text to 07927908351, email or Facebook messenger. When booking seats, please leave the names of all people who will attend with you
• Failure to book in advance may result in being turned away on the day. You will need to book by no later than 5pm on the last Wednesday before the Sunday Service is due to be hosted
• It is envisaged that there may be a small number of seats available should anyone visit or turn up on the off chance, but entry cannot be guaranteed and will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Once capacity is reached, we will have no alternative but to unfortunately deny people access to the building
• Entrance to and exit from the building will be via one-way system which must be adhered to without exception. Walkways are clearly marked out and there will be plenty of ushers on hand to guide you.
• There are handwashing stations around the building, ushers will guide you to them upon entry
• All individuals attending the church MUST wear a face mask unless there are underlying health reasons which justifies not wearing one.
• All attendees will be guided to their seats and should try to remain seated throughout the service. If you do need to leave your seat, gesture to an usher who will guide you.
• There can be no congregational singing, praying, or speaking at any time during the service.
• There will be a time of communion. Anyone wishing to partake should bring their own emblems (bread and wine) if they wish to partake
• There will be no physical contact between individuals who do not live in the same house on the premises.
• At the end of the Service, please remain seated until an usher tells you to leave the building. Please leave the premises immediately and also avoid congregating outside after the service.
• Do not leave your rubbish such as empty bottles and wrappers behind, please take it with you
Because of the above requirements, ushers have a very important role to play in maintaining that the church remains open for people to come and worship. Please help the ushers to carry out their duties by following these guidelines and any further instructions given by them at all times.
I know that these are difficult times, and that these rules are contrary to much of what we naturally practice as Christians and especially as a Church, but they are deemed necessary by the Government for us to meet safely, so we would greatly appreciate your cooperation in maintaining them. If meeting becomes largely unworkable, we will be forced to abandon the idea of meeting at the Centre and return to Services on-line only until the Government loosen restrictions sufficiently for us to meet and maintain their guidelines
We will continue broadcasting on-line services so those who are unable to attend will be able to join us on-line
These restrictions will be in place until they are relaxed entirely or significant changes to existing praxis are made by Government/ Elim HQ, which render them unworkable.
Thank you for your cooperation.
