Event description
Pusey House, Friends' & Patrons' Dinner, Hosted in the St. Cross Hall, (adjacent to Pusey House) (6.30pm, 4 December, 2021)

About this event

Following our Advent Lessons and Carols service there will be a drinks reception in the Hood Room (open to all). We will then host a dinner in the St Cross Hall for our Friends and Patrons. The dinner is a ticketed event and tickets will cost £55 per person. This will include pre-dinner drinks, a three-course meal, wine, port and coffee. We are delighted that Bishop Michael Langrish, one time Bishop of Exeter and current Governor of the House, will be our after dinner speaker.

We anticipate that this will be a sell-out occasion, so we would encourage you to book your dinner tickets as early as possible.

Organiser Pusey House

Organiser of Pusey House, Friends' & Patrons' Dinner

Pusey House was opened in 1884 as a memorial to Edward Bouverie Pusey (1800-1882). The House exists to promote theological study and holiness of life, and to provide spiritual counsel and comfort to members of the University, and all who avail themselves of the work and ministry of the House within the Church of England and beyond. In working to renew the Church of England’s Catholic life and witness, Pusey and his colleagues also sought to understand and respond to the most profound needs of society in their day. One of the basic principles of the Oxford Movement was that the life of the mind and the life of prayer belong together, and that holiness of life overflows in ministries of love and service. In different ways and in a different context, the Pusey House today seeks to embody these founding principles.
