Join local historian, Phil Rowett to find out how people found a way round these laws. This talk starts on the day war broke out but ends with a description of the events that led to a stolen ambulance being stopped by police gunfire at the Scotsgate in 1946.The examples given all occurred within the local area and can be taken as a reflection of the typical experience of all those on the Home Front 1939-45.
