Description

Arrive from 1830

Kim will enable attendees to collaboratively explore the challenges and opportunities that today’s leaders face and how the best leaders are leaning in to this VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex & Ambiguous) world and how others are struggling because they’re holding on to ways of thinking that no longer fit today’s world. She’ll explain how the concept and very common practice of Horizontal Development (most developmental activity, eg improving skills, competencies etc), which is intended to enable leaders is often getting in their way and how Vertical Development (eg addressing HOW leaders think, WHO they really are) is considerably more effective and probably the only answer for most leaders to navigate today’s (& tomorrow’s) world. Many of the problems we experience currently are because of a mismatch between leaders capacity to think sufficiently strategically, conceptually and humanely to meet the worlds challenges. In this session Kim will explain how she considers herself to be a student of Vertical Development and expects to be for the rest of her life; and how she’s inspiring and enabling her clients (organisations and individuals) to join her on this journey.

Drawing on her 21 years experience as a Leadership Coach, enabling leaders to genuinely lead, Kim will share her experiences and knowledge and invite others to share theirs as, together, they’ll consider how best to create leaders equipped for today’s VUCA world.
