Putting Evidence Into Practice: Using Implementation Science to facilitate delivering evidence informed practice
College of Occupational Therapy Specialist Section CYPF South East and London Regions Study Day
Course facilitated by: Dr Carolyn Dunford, The Children’s Trust
This study day will take known effective interventions and explore how they can be implemented in everyday practice. Effective implementation methods will be explored, including:
How to adapt evidence and national standards to the local context
Producing evidence based guidelines
Classroom teaching and seminars
Having an evidence champion
Sharing of audit results
Using emailed or primted reminders
Utilising local occupational therapy representatives to form a special interest group.
Carolyn Dunford has had a varied clinical and academic background having worked in the NHS for many years as an occupational therapy clinician/researcher as well as more recently spending three years as a senior lecturer at York St John University. Passionate about children and young people’s participation, clinically based research and developing outcome measures that capture the multi-faceted results from rehabilitation interventions Carolyn is an engaging speaker. She believes in making evidence based practice happen and making what we do as Occupational Therapists count to ensure the best results for the children and families.
