Description

Putting people back into the reform of health and social care.

Wednesday 9th April 2014

1-2pm

Sunley Conference Centre
the University of Northampton, Park Campus

Health and social care is going through a period of significant change and more than ever it is vital that people have a say in decisions about the services in their area. We have seen a bourgeoning of new forums and platforms for people to have their say, but many feel that decisions are still being led by system players and don’t understand what these changes will mean for them. At the same time the dynamics between the professionals delivering services and the people using them is starting to change. The rise of devolved payments, people-generated informatics, technological progress and the impending introduction of genomic profiles means this will land in a new space that offer an opportunity to recast the relationship between professionals and people.

In this seminar Dr Marc Bush, Director of Policy & Intelligence, Healthwatch England will explore the ability of people and communities to have their voices heard in this emergent landscape and changing dynamic, and the role that Healthwatch could play.

A sandwich lunch will be provided
