Event description

Description

Mathematical skills are key to excelling in every STEM subject and a central part of our daily lives.

Did you know that on average 1 person in 10 is at a disadvantage in their work and personal life as a result of their poor knowledge of maths?

You could make a difference!

Join us at this maths focussed networking event for STEM ambassadors and teachers, being held at the St John's Campus of the University of Worcester. The session will be led by staff from the STEM ambassador hub and The Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP) area coordinator for Worcestershire based at the University.

Come along to find out more about maths focussed enrichment events for secondary aged pupils (11-19 years) including the Ri’s Masterclass Programme and how you can get involved as a volunteer.

This twilight session will give you the opportunity to talk to the specialists and explore maths resources that you could use when working with young people in your role as a STEM ambassador. You will leave with a ‘goodie bag’ of materials for maths related activities to use too!

If you are interested in Mathematics in schools and want to get more involved through your STEM ambassador role or just want to have some fun seeing more of what can be done to develop the maths in STEM this event is for you.

Refreshments will be served from 16:30.

The session will start at 17:00 and end at 19:00.
