This course led by Tig Williams, will take you from no programming to a basic level aimed at preparing students in KS3 to program. It will introduce basic programming concepts and cover decomposition of problems, selection and looping within programs. The course will follow a model that will allow you to take the resources from the day and implement a 6 lesson unit into KS3 with minimal effort.

You should become a confident KS3 Python programmer and be able to deliver a unit of work in KS3 based on the content of the day.

Tig came into teaching from an industrial role as an IT and Business consultant. He became a head of ICT before the change to computing and was one of the lead adopters of the computing curriculum. He is Training Lead for CAS South East. He has since become an education consultant helping teachers and schools adopt the new computing curriculum covering all aspects of the computing curriculum over a range of Key stages from 1 to 5. He also works in secondary schools keeping his teaching skills up to date.
