Description

An oral history project documenting the social history of the Q Stock carriage as part of the 150 year celebration of the District Line.

We are looking for applicants aged 18-25 who are interested in social history, oral history, filmmaking and photography, or looking to gain new skills in the museum and heritage sector. Young Volunteer projects are a fun and creative way to get work experience by leading on developing and delivering a project with LTM.

This project starts on the 11th January from 2pm - 5pm. Sessions then run every Thursday from 18th January - Thursday 1st March 2018, 10am - 5pm

What will I do on the project?

  • Research, plan and conduct an oral history interview to be included in the Museum’s collection
  • Uncover fascinating stories and discover the personal and social history of the District Line
  • Work alongside our digital team and record and document the ongoing restoration work

What can I gain from participating?

  • Opportunity to collaborate across the museum’s different teams including curatorial and learning
  • Opportunity to develop knowledge of how to research, plan and conduct oral histories
  • Experience using filmmaking / photography skills in a museum setting
  • CV workshop and signposting to work
  • An accredited Bronze Arts Award qualification
  • Travel reimbursed (Zones 1-6) and lunch provided
