Angela Saini is a well-respected science journalist, who has led a BBC Four TV documentary on eugenics and is also author of Inferior: How Science Got Women Wrong, and Superior: The Return of Race Science, the latter of which was named by Nature as one of its top 10 books of 2019.
The University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, Equality in Science & Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine will be co-hosting an online Q&A session with Angela on Wednesday 24th June at 4.30pm and is open to all academic and professional services staff and PGRs from across all the institutions.
The event has been organised by Dr James Lea, Chair of the LGBT+ Staff and Postgraduate Network with support from the Chairs of the University’s Staff BAME Network (Dr Zainab Hussain) and Disability Staff Network (Dr Jenna Kenyani) with support from representatives from Equality in Science (Kath Gleave, Dr Natalie Lissenden and Gala Garrod) and Liverpool John Moores University (Dr Tori Sprung, EDI coordinator).
This should be a very interesting, informative and highly topical discussion.
We ask that questions for Angela are submitted with registration to try an enable as many people as possible to ask questions.
Professor Janet Beer, Vice Chancellor of the University of Liverpool, alongside other members of the senior leadership team from the three institutions will be attending to start off the discussions.
