Event description

Description

QBIOX (Quantitative Biology in Oxford) is organising an Immunology Sandpit to bring together immunologists and physical scientists / mathematicians / computer scientists interested in utilising systems based approaches in immunology to develop new collaborations and a network of scientists interested in applying systems-based approaches in Oxford. Quantitative systems based approaches including clinical datasets, molecular and cellular imaging to single cell RNA seq are impacting on immunology research, these datasets permit the application of advanced machine learning and computational/mathematical mechanistic modelling to immunological questions. The aim of this meeting is to involve all areas of immunology including but not limited to tumour immunology, autoimmune/inflammatory disease, transplantation and vaccination.

The format of this sandpit meeting will be a series of short presentation by PIs (1-2 slides) providing an opportunity to provide an overview of key projects and capabilities followed by a set of breakout discussions. There is a lot of interest in industry in systems-based approaches including mechanistic modelling; Alex Phipps the UK site head for Roche has agreed to come and provide an industry perspective at the event.

If you would like to attend, please sign up by obtaining a ticket. If you are willing to provide a short presentation, please email Mark Coles (mark.coles@kennedy.ox.ac.uk).
