This Award will be of particular interest to Health Care Assistants and Support workers caring for people at end of life including those working in Care Homes, Hospitals, Hospices or in the Community. Also agency staff working in Continuing Care.
These units will be assessed through the completion of written assessments and a portfolio. Some reading and research will need to be undertaken. Course materials and workbooks will be provided.
The Level 3 Award is a knowledge based 10 credit qualification of three mandatory units. There are no pre-requisite qualifications needed to access it.
The units are:
- Understand how to work in end of life care
- Principles of working in end of life care
- Understand how to support individuals during last days of life

Cost £400 per delegate however employers who provide data for the NMDS-SC (National Data Sets for Social Care) can access Workforce Development Funding to clain back a proportion of the cost of the training and for backfill. More details on this are available from Skills for Care.

Who can attend this event?
All Wirral healthcare professionals who frequently deal with end of life care are welcome to attend.
What are my car parking options for this event?
Please be aware that we do not supply car parking facilities at the hospice, car parking is available throughout the Clatterbridge site at £3.20 per visit.
Are refreshments included?
Lunch will be provided as well as tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day. It is the responsibility of the indivdual to inform us of any special dietary requirements prior to the event.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, we will have your registration information prior to the event,
What is the refund policy?
Please be aware that these places come at a cost to us, therefore it is extremely important that if you are unable to attend the training that you notify us via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) in order for the place to be reallocated. This should be undertaken as soon as possible upon being allocated a place; however, a minimum notice period of 48 hours is required prior to the course taking place. Unattended places or places cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a £50 charge per place.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
Yes, collegues can attend in your place if you are unable to attend at last minute.
