About this event

Health • Yoga

As the leaves fall from the trees, we can be inspired by the way nature lets go in autumn and gives way to a slower, more tempered pace - bringing this into the way we live, move, and breathe.

-------------------------------------------

Qigong teacher, Nikki Cottrell, is looking forward to welcoming you to this Qigong movement class & relaxation session, being held at The Bedminster Quaker Meeting House.

In this one and a half hour session, you'll practice some autumn themed Qigong movements. Nikki will then guide a relaxation session, which you can enjoy laying down, being supported by the ground beneath you.

If the weather allows, the Qigong movement practice will take place in the lovely garden area.

The theme of this session will be the Metal element, which in Qigong is the element that is associated with autumn. Metal encourages us to reflect on what is of true value to us in life and supports us to release, letting go of anything (such as emotions, physical tension or challenges, relationships and ways of being) that are no longer helpful.

Come and release, relax and move with the breath feeling numerous benefits including:

  • Relaxation and stress reduction
  • More ease and flow in the breath and body
  • Improved circulation and blood flow
  • Enchanced joint mobility and flexibility
  • Muscle strengthening
  • Bringing the physical, mental and emotional into harmony

...........................................................

Beginner friendly and also a wonderful immersion to those more familiar with Qigong.

This session is open to all, everyone is welcome.

There are 3 ticket levels depending on what you feel you can contribite. The lower being for those on low incomes who would otherwise not be able to attend, the upper level for those who are able to contribute more and wish to support this event being accessible to all.

Please bring a yoga mat or something else comfortable to lie on for the relaxation session. For your comfort, you may also like to bring a pillow or cushion (or more than one!) for your head and a blanket.

See below for the timings of this session and refer to the FAQs for additional information.

Frequently asked questions

Is there any parking at the venue?

There are a very limited number of free parking spaces at the Quaker Meeting House, otherwise there is street parking in the roads in the local area.

What should I wear

Comfortable loose clothing that you can move freely in. Jeans are not recommended. Having layers to put on/take off can be good in case your body temperature changes within different parts of the session.

What else do I need to bring?

A yoga mat or something else comfortable to lie on for the relaxation session. You may also like to bring a pillow or cushion for your head and a blanket. We may practice the Qigong outside depending on the weather. So it could be a good idea to bring extra layers.
