About this event
A Journey Through Movement, Breath, Rest, and Renewal
You are invited to soften into, and come home to, the sacred rhythm of natures true seasons. As we transition from autumn into winter, in this full day Qigong workshop, we will meet the wisdom of one of the chinese five elements; water.
💧Water is the still mirror of winter, it invites us inward. It holds the strength of quiet reflection and the power of leaning into rest. Linked with the kidneys and bladder, water whispers of restoring our essense and replenishing our energy reserves.
............................................................
Wintertime in the natural world is a time for rest and renewal. Yet, for many of us, it is one of our busiest and most stressful times of the year.
When we continue to push ourselves hard through the darker, colder, months we end up with a distinct lack of a “bounce in our step” when spring arrives in the following year, perhaps even burning out mid-way through the year because we started out the year tired and with low energy reserves.
Living more inline with the cycles of nature can set you up for a truely nourishing and replenishing winter season ready for the new year ahead.
Over the course of the day you’ll:
- Enjoy two restorative Qigong movement practice sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, learning sequences and stand alone movements that you can practice at home.
- Learn more about the Water element, it's associations with winter, how you can recognise imbalances in your own water element, and what you can do to restore balance!
- Discover some meridian energy points on your body that you can hold or massage to help with common winter illnesses (e.g. colds, coughs, fevers).
- Experience some wonderful breath, meditation and relaxation practices for bringing release and deep rest to your body.
- Come away with an abundance of tips, tools and practices for seasonal and emotional harmony.
- Make some new connections, enjoy interesting conversation, and some laughter too!
............................................................
