A Journey Through Movement, Breath, Rest, and Renewal

You are invited to soften into, and come home to, the sacred rhythm of natures true seasons — to release what no longer serves, and to replenish what quietly sustains.

............................................................

As we transition from autumn into winter, in this full day Qigong workshop we will meet the wisdom of one of the chinese five elements; water.

💧Water is the still mirror of winter, it invites us inward. It holds the strength of quiet reflection and the power of leaning into rest. Linked with the kidneys and bladder, it whispers of restoring our essense, replenishing reserves and opening to the mysteries of the deep.

Wintertime in the natural world is a time for rest and renewal. Yet, for many of us, it is one of our busiest and most stressful times of the year.

When we continue to push ourselves hard through the darker and colder months we end up with a distinct lack of a “bounce in our step” when spring arrives in the following March, perhaps even burning out mid-way through the year because we started out the year tired and with low energy reserves.

Living more inline with the cycles of nature can set you up for a truely nourishing and replenishing winter season ready for the new year ahead.

Over the course of the day you’ll:

  • Enjoy two restorative Qigong practice sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, learning sequences and stand alone movements that you can practice at home.
  • Learn some meridian energy points on your body that you can hold or massage to help with common winter illnesses (e.g. colds, coughs, fevers).
  • Experience some wonderful breath, meditation and relaxation practices for bringing release and deep rest to your body.
  • Come away with an abundance of tips, tools and practices for seasonal and emotional harmony.
  • Make some new connections, enjoy interesting conversation, and some laughter too!

............................................................

🕊️ Open to all! — no experience of Qigong or breathwork needed, just a willingness to arrive as you are and allow yourself to receive the gifts and learnings from this transformative and restorative day.

Please bring to following with you:

  • a yoga mat, pillow/cushions and a blanket
  • extra clothing layers (i.e jumper, a scarf, extra pair of cosy socks!)
  • a notepad/journal and a pen or pencil
  • water container and any special teas or coffees you like
  • lunch and snacks (though you are welcome to go out for lunch)
