About this event
Qigong is a gentle yet powerful movement practice from ancient China, and deeply connected to Traditional Chinese Medicine. Qigong combines flowing motion, breathwork, and stillness to harmonise and cultivate your vital life force — known as Qi.
In this class, you'll explore slow, rhythmic forms inspired by the elements and patterns found in nature, moving with intention and ease. Each sequence supports grounding, fluidity, and inner balance, making it suitable for all ages and physical abilities — no prior experience needed.
You’ll leave feeling centred, softly energised, and more connected to your body and the world around you.
Qigong sessions are running from a brand new studio based in Hackney Downs - check out all other sessions they run here and follow on instagram
Every Sunday at 12.30 pm
About your host
Rory McNeil is a movement teacher and facilitator offering practices that reconnect body, breath, and awareness. Drawing from yoga, qigong, and aerial disciplines, Rory’s classes are grounded, spacious, and designed to guide students toward a more attuned and embodied experience of themselves.
With a deep respect for the intelligence of the body and a softness in approach, Rory’s teaching invites presence over performance, curiosity over control. His sessions create a held space to explore strength, fluidity, and rest, on the mat, in the air, and within.
Rooted in ritual, rhythm, and breath, Rory’s work supports others in returning to their center, moving with intention, and cultivating a sense of ease through embodied practice.
As a queer person, Rory is passionate about creating spaces that are inclusive, affirming, and alive to the diversity of human experience. He draws from his own lived journey within the LGBTQ+ community to hold classes where individuals of all identities can feel seen, safe, and free to explore embodiment on their own terms — without expectation, and with deep care.
