Community Corner is a service run by the NHS aiming to combat social isolation and help people to live well in their communities. We run activities to promote health and wellbeing.
Join us on the 11th September from 10:30 to 12:30 for some tea and Qigong. We’ll meet at the Violet Melchett Health and Wellbeing Hub, then - weather permitting - take a short walk to a nearby open green space to complete our session surrounded by nature.
Qigong helps stimulate the flow of life energy, or Qi, throughout the body, leaving you feeling more energized, awake, and rejuvenated. This can help combat fatigue and support your body’s natural vitality. With its gentle, mindful movements and focused breathing, Qigong is a natural stress reliever.
As the season shifts into Late Summer - the nourishing “Fifth Season” governed by the Earth element - we’ll draw upon its stabilising, harvest-focused energy. This moment marks the balance between active (spring and summer) and restful (autumn and winter) seasons - a chance to consider what we leave behind and what we carry with us. Through Qigong, breathwork, and reflection, we’ll gently support circulation, digestion, and calmness in the body.
You’ll step away from digital disconnection into real-world connection—with yourself, your community, and the green space beneath your feet—building physical balance and mental resilience in a fast-paced city.
