Description

Improving the quality of care provided to patients is more likely to be successful if healthcare professionals, managers and information experts work together.

Based on the IHI Model for Improvement and the UCLPartners Measurement for Improvement training, this course introduces data and information experts to the principles of quality improvement and quality measurement in healthcare.

The course will provide an overview of the Model for Improvement, explain PDSA cycles and bring it into context of data and information required to succeed with quality improvement projects of any scale.

Those who attended the course will be able to actively support improvement teams and projects offering advise and expertise to access and generate data specific to improvement projects.

Topics that will be covered include:

- Model for Improvement

- PDSA cycles

- Process and outcome measures

- Data flow for quality improvement

- Sampling & reporting strategies

- Data types and information management for improvement

- Run and statistical control charts

- The rules of variation

- Understand and engage with improvement teams

Who is the course for?

This interactive and example-based course is open for health and social care data and information specialists from the UCLPartners Academic Health Science Partnership region.

Refundable deposit

The £50 will be refunded in full following course attendance or early cancellation with at least 48h notice.
