Quality of Teaching & Learning 

Aims:

To enable early years practitioners to raise the quality of their teaching to enable young children to make the best possible progress across the EYFS. The training will enable participants to learn to be effective teachers, ensuring they deliver quality child led learning and are aware of the characteristics of effective child led learning. Furthermore, participants will examine the role of the adult to support, scaffold and challenge children within their care.

Objectives:

  • To help practitioners to utilise the key elements of an effective teacher when supporting children to make the best possible progress

  • To be able to describe the key elements of practice that ensure high quality child led learning

  • To be able to state how the role of the adult is to support, scaffold and challenge and describe how you do this

  • To review how early years practitioners support children with the characteristics of effective learning within their teaching

 Learning outcomes:

 Practitioners will be able to:

  • Utilise the key elements of an effective teacher when supporting children to make the best possible progress

  • Describe the key elements of practice that ensure high quality child led learning

  • State how the role of the adult is to support, scaffold and challenge and describe how you do this

  • Review how early years practitioners support children with the characteristics of effective learning within their teaching

 Delivery techniques:

  • We use a mix of visual media, research, case studies, group discussions, pair work, role play, power point, workbooks and tutor input

Early Years Inclusion and Childcare Service

The Early Years Inclusion and Childcare Service is a service within Leicestershire County Council.

The Workforce Improvement Team commissions and provides training and development opportunities for the Leicestershire Private, Voluntary and Independent Childcare Sector.

Individuals who are not part of a provision registered on either part of The Childcare Register in Leicestershire may attend some of our training courses but will need to pay the rate for ‘Non-Leicestershire Early Years Registered Provider’ including nannies.

By submitting a course booking you agree to the following Terms and Conditions including giving consent for us to use and process the data you provide us with in line with the law on data protection and Leicestershire County Council’s Data Protection and Privacy Policies which can be found here:-https://www.leicestershire.gov.uk/about-the-council/data-protection-and-privacy

  • No refund of booking fees when cancelling a course. You can ‘log in’ and change the details of each delegate at any time prior to the course taking place.
  • If you cancel a place or fail to attend where a course is free, you will be charged £25 (childminders) and £50 (nursery/pre-school). This will be recovered through deducting FEEE payments or raising an invoice.
  • If Leicestershire County Council cancels the course for any reason we will offer an alternative course or date or a refund of fees paid.
